Biography

I was born in Moscow on the 8th of July, 1974.
My grandfather, Oleg Smirnov, is a very famous writer. He is the author of more then 15 fiction books on war, which were translated to 8 languages.
With the help of my grandfather I attended a primary school, specialized in literature.
My mother loves classical music, so she supported me in getting into a music school and I completed seven grade violins.
My father has got a Batchelor degree in Physics and Mathematics and I personally was always interested in human behavior and for that reason I went to Moscow State Sociology University where I studied math and psychology and graduated with Batchelor degree in Psychology. Then straight after the University I was on a work experience program in a mental institution.
In 1997 I started studying backgammon with professional players and three years later (in 2000) I won the Double Consulting World Backgammon Championship.
Right now I live in London and currently working on my autobiography book "From Russia with luck", which is due to be released next year. You can find a few chapters from the book on this website.
